Obituary for Jose A. Morales-Droz SPRINGTOWN–On Thursday, September 30, 2018, Jose A. “Joey” Morales-Droz, loving son and brother went home to our Heavenly Father at the age of 47. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Mount Olivet, 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Joey’s name. May he rest in peace. Joey was born October 2, 1970, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, to Jose Morales-Colon and Segunda Droz-Plata.

He graduated from high school and then he joined the Army in August 1988. He was honorably discharged in June 1996 after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Joey enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping or surfing at the beach, skateboarding and hanging out with his friends.

Vacations with his family were a ritual. Joey had a quick wit and a compassionate heart. To know Joey was to love him.

Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his brother, Jose Alfredo, in infancy. Survivors: He is survived by his mother and caregiver, Segunda Droz-Plata; his father, Jose A. (Migdalia) Morales-Colon; his sisters, Ayleen (Ricardo) Viera and Miriam “Tuty” Torres-Droz; his brothers, Jose (Sherri) Torres and Horlan J. (Johanna) Servia; his half-sisters, Leslie N.
