OBITUARY Jose B Fernandez Jr June 25, 1994 – November 9, 2018 Jose B. Fernandez Jr., 24 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018. Jose is survived by his beloved parents, Mary Jo (Ciccone) and Jose B. Fernandez Sr, his loving siblings, Nicholas Fernandez and Joell Fernandez Vorphal, his brother-in-law Jon, his cherished nephew, CJ and his loving Abuelo, Andres Fernandez Sr He is also survived his aunts, Rosa Fernandez and Gloria (Ciccone) Borges, and Kelly Fernandez, his uncles, Manuel Fernandez, Andres Fernandez Jr., Robert Vallario Jr., and Eugene Turiansky, as well as his cousins, Stephanie Nicole Borges, Andrew Fernandez, Alexis Fernandez, Allison Fernandez, Kelsie Fernandez, Andres Fernandez III and Jackson Vallario and his grandfather, Raymond Ciccone.

Jose was predeceased by his grandmother, Evelyn Vallario and his Abuela, Blandina Fernandez Iglesias and his best buddy and constant companion, his dog, Boo. Jose was a 4th year Pharm D student at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He was a 2012 graduate of Southern Ocean Regional High School.

He also attended and graduated from Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ and Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles with his closest friends, he also like to fish and going to the gym. Joey was a very engaged student with a tremendous spirit of volunteerism and infectious optimism about his future as a pharmacy leader.

He touched many lives on our Center City campus – both as a student and as an employee within TJUH. Joey saw every interaction as an opportunity to connect with his peers and mentors and as a way to contribute to the mission of JCP and our University. He will be deeply missed by the entire Jefferson community.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him, especially his family. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jose’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.
