Baudilio as everyone called him, was truly a man of the earth. A bull rider in his early twenties and his gusto for life made a simple attempt at making money into earning a living, but his love of nature, farming and horsespropelled him to search beyond his bullring and his hometown of San Rafael, Chalatenango, El Salvador, in search of a more prosperous life in the United States.

In 1972, Baudilio took his chances and moved to the U.S. but the yearning to start his own family brought him back to El Salvador to marry the love of his life, Argelia, and to start a family of their own. But the ideaof a better life in the United States never left Baudilio and in 1978 he returned to the U.S. and soon thereafter he was joined by his family including their two nieces and were together again. Baudilio did whatever he had to do in order to provide for his family.

For the next twenty years Baudilio worked for a trucking and moving company, rarely missing a day of work. In 1994 he moved the family to Sun Valley, CA when he purchased his first and last home on Sharp Avenue and lived there until his passing. Baudilio loved his family more than anything in the world and did whatever it took to protect them, even if it meant risking his own life.

Baudilio’s friends both near and far have always been an important part of his everyday life. Everyone around him was his family; related or not! Baudilio cherished having the people he loved around him, he loved telling jokes and making people laugh, he had a great sense of humor and welcomed everyone to his home to enjoy barbecues, birthdays and holidays togetherand everything in between, in the backyard.

Jose Baudilio Guardado is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria Argelia Guardado, his rock and lifelong right hand, and his children: Elsy, Johnny, Jaime and his grandchildren whom he adored and loved with all of hisheart, Valentina, Brian, Jovani and Jason.
