Obituary for Jose Pita Jose ( Joe) Maria Da Silva Pita 89, passed away on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at St. Claire’s Hospital in Dover, NJ. He was born in Murtosa, Portugal and came to the United States in 1950 and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ and in 1978 moved to Toms River, NJ where he remained. Joe was a proud member of Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local 472 of Newark for many years.

He was a member of the Sport Maritimo Murtoense and Ocean County Portuguese American Club . Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Mary, and his parents Manuel and Purficacao Limas-Pita. Also predeceased by his beloved sister and best friend Ana Amador.

He is survived by his brother in law- Manuel Amador and his nieces Ana ,MaryLou and nephew Manuel Jr He is also survived by his grandnieces/nephews. Visiting hours for Joe will be held on Friday ,June 15, at Noon with funeral services immediately after.

Interment will be at St Joseph Cemetery and Mausoleum in Toms River, NJ . Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Visitation for Joe will be held on Friday June 15 at Noon.
