Obituary for Joseph M. Critelli Joseph M. Critelli, a longtime resident of Beacon, passed away at home on December 2, 2018. He was 87 years old. Joseph was born in Beacon on April 6, 1931 the son of the late Joseph J. and Martha R. Sherilla Critelli.

Joe was raised in Cold Spring and graduated from Haldane High School in 1951. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the SS Cadamus AR-14 from 1951 to 1953. On September 11, 1955 he married the former Geraldine “Gerry” Seranto at St. John the Evangelist Church.

Mrs. Critelli predeceased him in 2016. Joe retired from Texaco Research Center in Glenham after 44 years of service. He was a life member of the Slater Chemical Fire Company in Glenham, life member of the Dutchess County Pistol Association (DCPA) and past member of the Beacon Elks Club.

Joseph is survived by his daughters, Carol Critelli and Cheryl Critelli-Neubauer and her husband, Don; his aunts, Josephine Critelli Gallio and Mary Lou Critelli; his cousins, Ronald Critelli, John Critelli, Ralph (Abby) Critelli, Rachel Casso Seranto, Amelia Duva Lombardo, Joseph Casso, Tom Sherilla, Frank Gallio, Ed Gallio, Elaine Meranto, Ellen Meranto Strasberg (Victor), Marie Meranto Lombardo (Joseph), John Catalano (Ann Marie), Madeline Catalano Reed (Ronald) and Katherine Catalano Agry; his nieces and nephews, Denise Seranto Fortin (Tom), Lori Seranto Pandolfi (Vince), Debra Gonzalez Calle, Peter Gonzalez and Joe Seranto; 7 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.

Burial with military honors will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his entire care team for the compassion and love given as he spent his days at home: Dr. Rose, Nurse Jenny, Brian, PT, Sharon, Social Worker (all of Castle Point), Nurse Jolene, Pat and Lee, LPNs, Alicia, Social Worker, Tom, Nurse (all of Hudson Valley Hospice) Linda and Tashambra (both of Visions Home Care), Bucksie, Clarence, Mbali (all of Civility Home Care Services) and Molly, his beloved therapy dog from Hudson Valley Hospice.
