OBITUARY Joseph Franklin “Joe” Moreland March 7, 1952 – November 6, 2018 Family and friends, it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Joseph Moreland. Joseph Franklin Moreland, 66, of Hurst, Texas peacefully and gracefully departed this life on November 6th, at his most beloved spot, Possum Kingdom Lake. Joe was born on March 7, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas to Frank and Dorothy Moreland.

Joe met his beloved wife, Connie in 1981 and in their 36 years together their life revolved around raising their three daughters; Shayna, Hayley and Whitney. Joe’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his girls and a grandpa to his grand-pups. He was known to many as a “Mr. Fix-It” because he loved welding, working with his hands, and could fix “almost” anything.

Joe graduated from Texas Tech University in 74’ and continued to love and support his Red Raiders throughout the entirety of his life. Joe spent countless hours and weekends entertaining his family and his daughter’s friends at their ranch on Possum Kingdom Lake. Everyone who knew him knew that was his home away from home.

Joe came alive when he was out there on the ranch tending to the land that he frequented as a child with his father and uncle. It will forever be a memorable place to all that knew him. Our family is at peace knowing he passed at his most cherished place.

Joe is survived by his wife, Connie Moreland, daughters Shayna Moreland, Hayley Earwood & husband Sean, and Whitney Moreland, Sister Sonja Adams & husband Neal, brother in-law Greg Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, November 12th at Bluebonnet Hill Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow in the Bluebonnet Family Lounge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
