Joseph’s Obituary Another great soul has left this earth…Joseph “Happy Joe” Horkman, 60, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2019. He was born on July 16, 1958, in Green Bay to Elmer and Loretta (Enderby) Horkman. Joe loved playing baseball/whiffle ball, and was great at hitting it over the roof.

He loved apple pie. Joe also enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and dancing at Aspiro. He had a unique laugh when something “struck his funny bone”!

Joe worked at Aspiro for 40 years. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Wayne Horkman, Daniel Horkman, Barbara Horkman, David (Jean) Horkman, Michael (Debbie) Horkman, Stephen (Gail) Horkman, Frank (Lori) Horkman, Patricia (Steve) Gregorich; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Loretta Horkman; brother-in-law, Eric Brown; and special friends, Dave and Monica Devenport.

A special thank you is extended to Anne Cornell and her team at Aspiro for supporting and caring for Joe; as well as Randy and the rest of the staff and clients at Home for Independent Living for being Happy Joe’s loving family. The family also expresses the sincerest gratitude to Heidi and her parents, Dave and Monica Devenport for being such wonderful and loving caregivers to Joe for his adult life. A memorial fund has been established to benefit Aspiro and Home for Independent Living.
