Joseph J. Horbacz, 88, of Rahway, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Born and raised in Elizabeth, he graduated from Jefferson High School, moving to Rahway in 1990. Mr. Horbacz was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of St. Stan’s Club, lifetime member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 91, St. Peter & Paul Leisure Club, St. Hedwig’s Seniors, Retired Men’s Club of Rahway, American Legion Post 328 of Clark, past President and Treasurer of the Polish Falcons Nest 126 of Elizabeth. Joseph was a retired plumbing draftsman for August Arace Co. of Elizabeth. He was the beloved husband for 43 years of Adele (Matlosz) Horbacz, loving uncle of Thomas Matlosz, Raymond Matlosz, Ronald Madjeski, Cecilia Scholz, Martha Farkasova and Ann Marie Wodlowski, and great uncle of several great nieces and nephews.

Joseph was predeceased by his brothers; Stanley, Zigmund, Walter, John and William, sisters; Bertha Madjeski and Stephanie Horbacz. He enjoyed working on Christmas gifts for family and friends. Visiting Friday, 3:00-7:00 pm.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, October 13, 2018 9:00 am from Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. St. Georges Avenue, Linden, N.J. 07036. Funeral mass St. Adalbert RC Church, Elizabeth 10:00 am. Interment Mt.

Calvary Cemetery, Linden. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Adalbert Restoration Fund, 250 E Jersey St., Elizabeth, NJ 07206 or Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 91, 2526 Grier Ave Linden, NJ 07036 would be appreciated.
