Obituary for Joseph Neil Ruocco Joseph Neil Ruocco of Huntington, NY passed away on the 26th of April, 2018. He was born on the 1st of November, 1929 in the Bronx to Alfonso Ruocco and Amelia Aiello both of Positano, Italy. Joseph attended Fordham University in New York City and graduated with a PHD in Psychology.

While attending Fordham Joe met the love of his life, Marilyn Murphy. Joseph then served in US Army during the Korean War. After completing his time in the Army Joseph married Marilyn in New York City on December 27, 1954.

Joseph began his professional career in New Jersey and moved to Huntington, Long Island in 1958. He and Marilyn moved into the home where they would raise their seven children and live for the next five decades. Joseph worked at Grumman Aerospace as a, he then moved to ITT where he worked in the personnel department.

While commuting from Huntington to New York City he began teaching college courses on the Long Island Railroad. This would inspire Joe to begin a career in teaching at Adelphi University where he served as a Professor of Decision Sciences and Marketing in the Business School. Joseph was predeceased by his wife Marilyn who passed on March 6th, 2007.

He is survived by his seven children; Virginia Kelly, Joseph Ruocco, Robert Ruocco (Lisa), Mary Curry (Craig), Christopher Ruocco, Peter Ruocco (Melissa Roddy), and Timothy Ruocco (Tara). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Maryhaven Center of Hope in Port Jefferson, Long Island.
