Joseph “Ray” Loiselle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle passed away peacefully at his home in Florissant, CO at the age of 82 on December 10, 2018. Ray was born on January 28, 1936 in New York City to Charles and Rose Loiselle. He was the youngest of 12 children, having 3 brothers, Charlie, Lou and Robert and 8 sisters: Millie, Henrie, Norma, Jackie, Georgette, Margaret, Virginia and Theresa.

The family moved to Los Angeles when Ray was 5 years old. So he was almost a native Californian. He enlisted in the Marine Corp at the age of 17 during the Korean conflict.

He loved his military service and served his country proudly for 8 years. After his discharge from the Marines Ray began a career at Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works as a pattern maker. Working on prototypes for the Defense industry.

He loved what he did and was employed there for 37 years until his retirement in March of 1999. Ray was blessed with three children; two sons, Charles and Raymond who both preceded him in death; and one daughter, Lorraine. Adding to his legacy are two grandsons of whom he was very proud; Jason (Angie) and Joseph (Kimmy); four great-grandchildren; Alexis, 23, Alyssa 18, Colin, 3, Ava 15 months and many nieces and nephews.

Ray met his wife and love of his life, Jean, in 1987. They were married on June 30, 1990. And celebrated 28 wonderful years together this past summer.

Ray loved the outdoors, in his younger days he considered nothing more fun than taking his kids and grandsons camping and waterskiing on Lake Mohave along with his buddies. Generally he just enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading books and puttering around outside. A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held on January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Rocky Mountain Chapel, 4240 CR 1, Cripple Creek, CO.

A luncheon reception is planned immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans or any charity of choice.
