Obituary for Joseph Raymond Mitchell Joseph R. Mitchell, age 54 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Freeman Hospital following an illness. Joe was born on September 21, 1964 in Joplin, the son of Buddie and Quana Sue (Hood) Mitchell.

He has been a life-long area resident, Joe graduated from Parkwood High School in 1983. He worked at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery for several years, later he owned and operated Big Boys Lawn Care for many years until he retired. Joe was a member of the Laborers Local 319 and was a Union Laborer for 15 years, he, along with his father, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #335.

Joe was an avid deer hunter, bagging his 10-point buck on the Hood Family Farm. He is survived by his parents, his step-son, Soliman McCoy; his loving dog, Buddy; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.

Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
