Joseph Conway, age 97, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, Born on August 18, 1921, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Sarah and William Conway. Proud World War II ~ U.S. Navy Executive Officer. A graduate of Villanova University, Masters, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

After 15 years of working at General Electric Jet Engine Propulsion division, Joe became co-founder and president of Mar-Test, Inc. (now Element Cincinnati). He wrote and published several metallurgical engineering textbooks and was actively involved in his parish as a lector and lay distributor. An avid bridge player, his friends and bridge partners jokingly called him “no-trump Joe”.

He wrote a bridge book to instruct new players to the game. Joe was his grandsons’ biggest sports fan, and he never met a Philadelphia cinnamon bun he didn’t like. Joseph is survived by Dorothy (nee Leinen), his loving wife of 70 years, children Susan (Peter) Brumm, Dolores Conway, Kelly (Kimberly) Conway, Courtney (Amy) Conway and seven grandsons, Joseph Brumm, Ryan Conway, Kyle (fiancé Elisabeth Mullens) Conway, John Brumm, Conor Conway, Dalton Conway, and Devon Conway.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Jerome, and Lawrence Conway. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at St. Gabriel Church, 48 W. Sharon Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246. No visitation.

Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Therese of the Little Flower Church in Mt Airy or St. Gabriel Church in Glendale.
