Josephine Mary Elizabeth Atkinson Sartor was born June 25, 1923, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Winefred Hartigan Atkinson. She was married to the late John Sartor.

Their children are: Maureen (Richard) Duvall, Owensboro, KY; Thomas (Edith) Sartor, Williamston, MI; Therese Sartor, Royal Oak, MI; Richard Sartor, Salt Lake City, UT; Jane (Duane) Billingsley, Merrillville, IN; Elizabeth (Michael) Schmitz, Fowlerville, MI; Mark (Lisa) Sartor, Howell, MI. There are 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is survived by four brothers and two sisters.

Jo came to Detroit at 3 years of age. She studied for and passed the citizenship test and was proud of her American citizenship. She was involved in church, school, and political activities.

The family moved to Fowlerville in 1976 and became members of St. Agnes. She enjoyed traveling and learning new things. She was one of the founders of Right to Life of Michigan and Right to Life Livingston County.

She was on the RTL of Livingston Co board for twenty years. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Livingston County Right to Life or the Pregnancy Help Clinic of Brighton, MI. Visitation, Thursday 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home, Fowlerville.

Funeral Mass, Friday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
