Joshua Pierce Holland of Cumming, Georgia, born August 3, 1984, departed this life and went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 20, 2018, following a brief illness. Mr. Holland was a graduate of North Forsyth High School, North Georgia College & State University, and Georgia State University, earning a Master of Arts Degree in Music Performance with a concentration in Jazz Studies. Music was his passion.

He graduated from the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, and served from 2011 to 2014, achieving the rank of Sergeant in “The Commandant’s Own,” The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, providing ceremony to uplift the work of the United States Armed Forces in our country and around the world. He once said the highlight of his life was playing a solo with his ensemble on the stage of Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts in NYC. Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his grandparents E.J. and Grace Reed Holland of Buford and Pierce and Kate Heard Corn of Cumming, uncle Larry Holland, and aunt Joyce Corn Roberts.

He is survived by his parents Tim and Alice Corn Holland; brother and sister-in-law Caleb and Kimberly Bollinger Holland, uncles and aunts Mina Dreher Holland, Bo and Sonya Holland Cropper, Dennis and GuyAnn Murray Corn, Jerry Roberts, and John and Laura Whaley Corn. He is also survived by many loving cousins. The family will receive visitors at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA, on Thursday, December 27th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Friday, December 28th, from 10:00 am until the time of service.

The service will be at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
