Joyce C. Hrehocik (nee Bartelt), 84, formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday April 30, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain following a long illness. She was born March 11, 1934 in Cleveland. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Hrehocik was a devoted mother and grandmother and she helped to raise her four grandsons. She enjoyed keeping a tidy house, visiting Amish country, and going to casinos to play the penny (and sometimes nickel) slot machines. She also loved the color purple.

Mrs. Hrehocik is survived by; her son, Gregory Hrehocik (Charlotte) of Vermilion; four grandsons, Bryan Hrehocik of Parma, Geoffrey Hrehocik (Michelle) of North Royalton, Steven Hrehocik (Jo Ann), serving with the US armed forces in Germany, and Michael Hrehocik (Erica) of North Olmsted; two step-granddaughters, Justina Lingler-Miller (Christopher) of Nova and Dr. Melaine Chema (Dr. Andrew Chema) of Cuyahoga Falls; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Joseph Hrehocik in 2011; and by a step grandson, Clifford Sheehan in 2015. A private family service will be held.

Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Avon. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mercy New Life Hospice. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
