Joy Lee Eversole, 87, a former longtime resident of the Cornelius community, late of Hillsboro, died Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. JOY LEE EVERSOLE was born January 11, 1931 in Iron River, Michigan, the daughter of the late Roy Erb and Rose Evelyn (Breen) Erb. She was raised and received her education on the Iron River community, having been a graduate of the Iron River High School Class of 1948.

She was united in marriage to Ray Eversole in 1922 in Vancouver, Washington. Following their marriage they made their home in the Cornelius community for many years. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Ray.

Joy had worked as a repacker for Gray & Company Cannery in Forest Grove for fifteen years, until she became injured and retired on disability. She was a member of the Hillsboro Order of the Moose Lodge #1377. Among her special interests, she was an avid golfer and enjoyed arts and crafts.

Joy was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Rose Erb; by her sister, Vivian Gregory in 1999 and her son, Albert Lee Lloyd in 2013. Survivors include her two daughters and a son-in-law, Cherri and Dick Dragonoff, of Prineville, Oregon and Terri Adamson and her significant other, Tony Rodriquez, of Hillsboro, Oregon and her brother and sister-in-law, Edgar “Sunny” and Bev Erb, of Longview, Washington. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Chuck Heckman, of Hillsboro, Oregon; twins, Philip Gatto and Michael Gatto, both of Prineville, Oregon; Jeremy and Katy Lloyd, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Jason Lloyd, of Beaverton, Oregon; Timothy Lloyd, of Pocatello, Idaho; Mark and Debbie Adamson, of St. Helens, Oregon and Jennifer Martinez, of Chalmette, Louisiana; her seventeen great-grandchildren; her three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
