Juana’s Obituary Juana Ortiz Vasquez, 82, of Old Forge, died Thursday morning, January 10, 2019 in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Santiago Ruiz, preceded her in death. Born in Puerto Rico on February 1, 1936, daughter of the late Ramon and Gregoria Vasquez Ortiz, it was there that she received her education.

Juana was a homemaker and a devout practitioner of the Roman Catholic Faith. Surviving are her children, Roberto, Ana, Heriberto, Iraida, Anibal, Nazario, Dora, Elizabeth Ruiz-Ortiz. She was also preceded in death by Husband Santiago Ruiz Alvarado and Children Jose Alexis and Jamie Ruiz-Ortiz.

Funeral services will be privately held at the discretion of her family under the direction of Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services, LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge. Interment will take place in Puerto Rico. To leave a message of consolation visit ferrigillettefuneralservices.com.

Juana Ortiz Vásquez, de 82 años, de Old Forge, murió el jueves 10 de enero de 2019 en el Hospital Regional de Scranton. Su esposo, Santiago Ruiz, la precedió en la muerte. Nacida en Puerto Rico el 1 de Febrero de 1936, hija del difunto Ramón y Gregoria Vásquez Ortiz, fue allí donde recibió su educación.

Juana era ama de casa y practicante devota de la fe católica romana. Sobreviven sus hijos, Roberto, Ana, Heriberto, Iraida, Aníbal, Nazario, Dora, Elizabeth Ruiz-Ortiz. También fue precedida en la muerte por el esposo Santiago Ruiz Alvarado y los hijos José Alexis y Jamie Ruiz-Ortiz.
