Hazel “Juanita” Lathrop Tarver of Ripley, passed away November 19, 2018 in the Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 97. The daughter of the late Tosby Legrant Lathrop and Mary Jennie (Mary Jane) Linn Lathrop was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on January 21, 1921. She was united in marriage to Ray C. Tarver on July 7, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas.

Juanita loved her sewing and quilting and her social time spent with her club friends, Eula, Sue, Teresa, Shirley and Kathy. Juanita is survived by two daughters, Nancy Tarver Schlegel and husband Gary and Mary Katherine “Kathy” Tarver Hanks and husband Randy; eight grandchildren, Sue Ann Schlegel, Jill Schlegel King, John Schlegel and wife Darien, Reed Tarver, Tracy Tarver Harnish and husband Will, Randy Hanks II and wife Jessica, Amy Hanks, Mitchell Tarver and wife Dianne; great-grandchildren, Misti Overfelt, Carol Green, Luke Harnish, Brook Harnish, Hunter Harnish, Brody Harnish, Emily Schlegel, Abby Schlegel, Kaitlyn Schlegel, Ryan Schlegel, Waylon Hanks, Whitney Hanks, Kimberly Tarver, Emily Tarver, Sarah Tarver, Stephanie Tarver, Mitch Tarver II, Daniel Tarver and five great-grandchildren from Las Vegas; numerous great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ray Carl Tarver; daughter, Ranita Tarver; two sons, Carl Edward Tarver and Tommy Ray Tarver; grandsons Bret Tarver and Jeff Tiraada; two sisters, Norma Lathrop Brownlee and Mary Eathlyn Lathrop Rainbow. Funeral services will be Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mehan Union Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Toby Tiner officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
