Judith’s Obituary Judith M. Waldow, nee Streufert, age 81, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Arden Courts of Glen Ellyn in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She was born May 10, 1937 to Albert and Edna (nee Zahn) Streufert. She graduated from Concordia College in River Forest with a degree in Education.

She earned her Master’s Degree from Northern Illinois University. She married Carl M. Waldow in 1961 and had three children. She taught in District 200 as a second grade teacher at Madison School until she retired at age 71.

She was a longtime active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Judith was an avid reader and enjoyed baking. She loved music and taught piano for many years.

She was a people person who loved to stay in touch with her many friends and family. Most of all she loved her family. Her laughter will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Main St. at Franklin St., Wheaton. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Memorial gifts may be directed to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087, (267) 514-7221.
