Judy Elizabeth DeBoever, 73, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at her home, in rural Geneseo, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. Reverend Matt Kamprath will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Aisle of Flags, the First Lutheran Church, or the Geneseo Historical Museum.

Judy was born on May 24, 1945, the daughter of Carl O. and Margaret E. (Boberg) Olson, in Geneseo, IL. She graduated from Geneseo High School with the class of 1963, and is a graduate of the Marquette University Dental Assisting Program. Judy married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. DeBoever, on December 11, 1965, in Geneseo.

She worked as a dental assistant for 23 ½ years and also worked at the food counter at Stenzel’s Auction in Cambridge for several years. Judy farmed side by side with her husband Bob. She was an avid Mickey Mouse fan and collector, and visited Disneyland and Disney World many times.

Judy is a life member of the Don Cherry VFW Auxiliary, where she had served as past president. She was the Aisle of Flags president, Memorial Day Association president (along with her husband, Bob), a charter member of the Sundowners (former Home Extension), a Geneseo Township election judge since 1975, charter member of the F.F.A. alumni, life member of First Lutheran Church of Geneseo, member of Altar Guild, and former Sunday School teacher, lector, and funeral ministry volunteer. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bob; children, Jodi (Steve) Martin, of Cambridge, and Jamie (Mike) Paape, of Eau Claire, WI; grandsons, Brody Kolb and Samuel Paape; step-grandson, Jacob Martin; and brothers, Robert (Mary) Olson, of Cambridge, and Dean (Diane) Olson, of Geneseo.

Judy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
