Funeral service for Julia Elizabeth Haynes, age 95 of Woodlawn, will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Julia passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. She was born on September 28, 1923 in Clarksville, TN to Robert and Myrtice Mason. She was a teacher for 30 years having taught in Woodlawn schools and Byrns Darden Elementary.

Julia learned to pilot a plane during WWII and was in Civil Aviation. She also worked in the laboratory testing canisters for the chemical warfare division, B.F. Goodrich. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Graham Eaton Haynes.
