Throughout her lifetime, June was fortunate to have lived in every corner of the United States: from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, near the Atlantic to Monterrey, California, on the bluffs of the Pacific; from snowy Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Laredo, Texas, on the border; and in between in Tazewell, Tennessee; Pasadena, Texas; Clute, Texas; Fort Smith, Arkansas; and the city she called home, North Little Rock, Arkansas. June was very active in the North Little Rock community. Having graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1950 as a member of the National Honor Society, June was a key figure in keeping her class together in later years.
She organized several class reunions and started the “50 girls” monthly luncheons which are still active today. She volunteered at the Hayes Center teaching water aerobics. June also served as judge at her local polling place during every election.
In her spare time, she crocheted hats for the neonatal unit at UAMS. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
The family thanks the wonderful individuals from Kindred Home Health, especially Eric Henry, and the staff at Carelink who helped in so many ways. Donations can be made to Carelink Meals on Wheels at www. carelink.org.
