Justin Leland Melton, May 14, 1958 — February 13, 2019

Justin’s Obituary Justin Melton went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 13, 2019 with family by his side after battling a long illness. He was born May 4th, 1958 in Taylor, TX to J.L. and Ethel Melton. He spent his childhood playing on this grandfather’s farm which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was quite an amazing artist, but his true passion was music. It first started banging on pots and pans in the kitchen. Then, it was singing gospel music in the church.

It was there that he met his first wife who gave him three beautiful children. He became a very successful Karaoke DJ playing gigs all over the hill country. But, he was not just a DJ.

He was a performer and impersonator. He would dress up in costume and bring to life such acts as Elvis Presley, Billy Idol, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, and Elton John. Anyone who ever watched his show left with a smile on their face and was in awe.

It was in one of these small venues that he met the love of his life, Joyce Melton. They were married for 20 years and she never left his side. He loved motorcycles and playing pool with one hand.

He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell, and a prank to pull. You could say he was the life of the party. In his later years he developed a passion for golf.

You could find him on the golf course several times a week. But more importantly, he was a very giving man. He played several benefits to help others in need and never expected anything in return.

Justin had a caring soul. Justin is survived by his wife, Joyce Melton, mother Ethel Melton, father J.L. Melton, sister Gayla Melton, sister Tammy (Perry) Savard, and sister Wynonna Melton. He is also survived by his children Dustin Melton (Jennifer), Jennifer Davis (Tommy), and Crystal Reavis (Cody).

Has also had 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Cook/Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX at 12pm noon. Immediately following will be a celebration of life at Cactus Rose Hwy 95 N in Taylor, TX.
