Kara Ann Mowery Herr , May 03, 1990 — May 02, 2019

Kara Ann (Mowery) Herr, 28, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Hershey Medical Center losing her battle with cancer. Born May 3, 1990 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Richard and Karen (Winters) Mowery, of Montgomery. On August 20, 2016 she married the love of her life, Justin M. Herr.

They would have celebrated three years of marriage this fall. Kara was a 2008 graduate of Montgomery High School and a 2010 graduate of the radiology program at Mansfield University. In 2013 she graduated from Washburn University with a degree in Radiation Therapy.

Kara worked as a radiation therapist at the Summit Health Physician Services, Chambersburg. Kara and Justin loved to travel, visiting Greece and Italy last year. She was always planning the next trip.

She loved to go to the lake house on Seneca Lake, where she liked to go out on the boat and wake board. When she wasn’t traveling or planning her next trip, Kara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her niece and nephew, whom absolutely adored her. She also loved her three cats, Mocha, Pippa and Bernard.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Lance Kennedy, of Montgomery; a nephew, Brantley Kennedy and a niece, Blakely Kennedy, both of Montgomery; and her maternal grandmother, Margaret Winters, of Muncy. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Richard Winters and paternal grandparents, Richard and Esther Mowery. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, where the memorial service will be held at Noon.

Officiating will be the church pastor, the Rev. Arlene Beechert. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Kara’s name be made to either the ASPCA, online at www.

aspca.org or to the 1 Million 4 Anna Foundation, 15301 Dallas Parkway #1100, Addison, TX 75001 or online at www. 1million4anna.org, to fight against Ewing’s Sarcoma. The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
