Karen L. Gusaas, 76, Litchville, North Dakota died February 14, 2019 Eventide, Fargo, North Dakota. Karen Louise Opdahl was born February 14, 1943 in Valley City, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Alfred Bernard and Evelyn (Storhoff) Opdahl. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Litchville and graduated from Litchville High School.

She attended Interstate Business College and then work for Fidelity Savings and Loan in Valley City. On August 17, 1963, she married Kenneth Gusaas in Litchville. In 1965 they began farming and in 1987 she began working at Cenex in Litchville and later for Cenex in Valley City until her retirement on January 29, 2010.

Kenny passed away October 12, 2017. Karen is survived by three sons, Jason Gusaas, Shakopee, Minnesota, Chad (Brenda) Gusaas, Apple Valley, Minnesota and Nathan (Sarah) Gusaas, Litchville; four grandchildren, Sage Gusaas, Litchville, Carson Gusaas, Apple Valley, Jade Gunderson, Minnetonka, Minnesota and Kaleb Gunderson, Apple Valley City; one brother, Alfred Jan (Linda) Opdahl, Audubon, Minnesota; and a brother-in-law, Lee Herberg, Mandan, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Connie Opdahl and Cynthia Herberg.

Visitation will be 2 – 4 pm Sunday, February 17, at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City and will continue one hour before the funeral service which will be held Monday at 10:30 am in First Lutheran Church, Litchville.
