OBITUARY Karen Lynn Downey February 10, 1956 – December 27, 2018 Karen Lynn Downey (nee Moe), of Marengo, IL, passed on December 27, 2018. Karen was born on January 10, 1956 to Paul and Victoria Moe in Elmwood Park, IL. She graduated from Elmwood Park High School and then received a degree from the Harrington School of Design in Chicago.

Karen married Kenneth J. Downey on April 7, 1989. She was very artistically talented and shared those talents with friends and family by aiding them with home decorating advice. Karen loved dogs and had a number of them throughout her life.

She leaves behind her beloved pets, Mickey and Chloe. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her stepmother, Lois Moe Jones and stepfather of fifty years, Hellmut Ross, of Harvard. Karen is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ken; cousins, Linda Ferroli Stein, Marcia Midland Hayes, and numerous relatives in Norway.
