Karen Vaughn, 67, of Ardmore, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening. Karen had cerebral palsy but never realized that she had a disability and always had a positive attitude, was resilient in hardships, and always wanted to be independent. She had a strong faith in Christ and was outspoken – telling you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not.

She showed affection, especially enjoying singing others to sleep. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Thelma Vaughn; Her brother, James Wayne “Jim” Vaughn; She was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. Surviving family members include her sister, Mona Clark and her husband, Mike; Her brother, David Vaughn and his wife, Vicky; Her sister, Teresa Hoover and her husband, Robert; Her aunt, Merry Ruth Hubbard; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, two great-nieces, and several great-nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 7pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with Dr. Mike Clark officiating. On Thursday, a graveside service will be held at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama at 11AM with Dr. Mike Clark officiating.
