Katherine’s Obituary Katherine Rose Hanson, 66, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at a Topeka hospital. Kathy was born February 29, 1952 in Topeka the daughter of Charley T. and Irene Frances Mack Starkey. She attended grade school at Meriden and graduated from Silver Lake High School.

She attended beauty school and Kaw Valley Vo-tech. She had worked at Betsy’s Beauty Shop as a certified beautician. She worked several jobs including Payless.

She then worked at Jostens Yearbook Company for over 30 years prior to retiring. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and sewing. She was a member of Country Cousins Square Dance Club and the Eagles Lodge.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammye J. Hanson and Lerry of Silver Lake; son, Randy, W. Hanson of Silver Lake; two grandchildren, Ashley (Steven) and Rosemary; four great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Irvine of Silver Lake; and brother, “Tom” Starkey (Sammye) of Topeka and several nieces and nephews. Kathy married Ron Hanson on May 6, 1972 in Topeka. Ron preceded her preceded in death on June 28, 1999.

Kathy was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church on Monday, February 25th at 10:00 am Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 24th at Davidson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the rosary.
