Kathie Maria Andrus Smith was born on November 6, 1940 in Murray, Utah to Milton R. Andrus and Carolyn Aiken Andrus. She grew up in Utah and South Carolina. During her time as a student at BYU, she met her husband, Charles Smith at church while visiting her grandparents in Draper, UT.

After serving her mission in Belgium and France, they were married on June 5, 1964. Together, they raised four children, Byron (Kathryn), Gerry (Kristen), Scott, and Benjamin (Natasha). She was immensely proud of her eleven grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Throughout her life, Kathie cultivated a love of genealogy and books. She was an active librarian for many years. It was Kathie’s wish that memorial donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid.

Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 29 at 2:30 p.m. at the Draper City Cemetery, 12450 South 900 East. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East in Draper.
