February 11, 2019 Kathleen A. Crosby RIVERVIEW, FL- Kathleen A. (Dery) Crosby, 71, of Peru Creek Drive and formerly of New Salem, MA, died peacefully at home on February 8, 2019. Born in Gardner, MA on October 21, 1947, she was a daughter of Richard and Jeanette (Ward) Dery and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in 1965. Kathleen was married to Dana K. Crosby and they have enjoyed 52 ½ years of marriage.

Following high school, Kathleen went to the Henry School of Hair Design in Worcester and became a hairdresser for several years. Later, she went to work at New Salem Elementary School followed by working at Ralph C. Mahar Regional School as a cook for 23 years before retiring. She loved the children at both schools.

Kathleen and Dana made their home in New Salem for 41 years before moving to Florida 5 years ago. Kathleen was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and adored and enjoyed her time with the grandchildren. Kathleen loved doing puzzles as well as reading.

She enjoyed watching “The Price Is Right” and the “Wheel Of Fortune”. For more than 20 years, she and the family enjoyed camping, first in tents and later a pop up camper. They camped in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and quite a bit of Eastern Canada and New Brunswick.

Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband, Dana Crosby of Riverview, FL; children, Kimberly Flanders and her husband, Patrick, of Riverview, FL, Deane Crosby and his wife, Amy, of Lakeworth, FL, and Kate Guinn and her husband, John, of Summerville, SC; great grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel, Adrian, Michael, Carrie, Jewel, Laura, Isaac and Eva; a sister, Priscilla Peirce and her husband Herbert of Orange; brothers, Richard Dery and his wife, Kathy, of Orange and Mark Dery and his wife, Pat, of New Salem; and many nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. A service will be held at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 16th at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 16th at 4 p.m. at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange. Interment in Tully Cemetery, Orange, will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or to ALS Association- Massachusetts, 685 Canton St., Suite 103, Norwood, MA 02062.
