Kathleen Anne Dalrymple (Kathy) passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2019, in the Ames Family Hospice House of Western Reserve in Westlake Ohio. She was 83 years old. Kathleen was born on June 25, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of Norman and Eileen (Rehberg) Ingraham.

Kathleen graduated from Euclid High School in 1953. She worked as a secretary at Gray Drug in Cleveland before marrying her husband Walter Dalrymple. Upon her marriage she gained a step-son Robert… Read More » (Bob) Dalrymple.

Kathy and Walter went on to have two more sons Daniel (Dan) and David. When Dan and Dave reached school age, Kathy went back to work, first volunteering then moving to a paid position as a teacher’s aide for the Port Clinton City School System. Most of her years were spent at Portage Elementary.

She loved her job and her interaction with the faculty, staff and especially the children, whom she treated with the same love and care she showed her own sons. The family first moved to Port Clinton in 1968 and Kathy remained in their beloved family home on Sandusky Bay after Walter passed away in 1993 and until 2001. She then moved to Oxford, Ohio, to be closer to her son Dan and remained there until 2006 when Dan’s coaching career took him to the New Orleans Saints.

Kathy then moved back to the Cleveland area and in 2011, moved to Avon Oaks Nursing Home. Kathleen had a variety of interests. She was a voracious reader and loved listening to music.

Kathy was quite artistically talented and loved drawing and painting, skills that served her well in her teachers aide career. Kathleen became an avid sports fan, first supporting her sons’ athletic careers through high school and on to Miami University. Always passionate about education she was proud to see both of her sons follow successful athletic careers with earning college degrees from Miami U. A lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns, Kathy also cheered on the Saints for the last 13 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter in law Andrea (Solis) Dalrymple. Kathleen is survived by her sons and two daughters in law, Linda and Susan. Through Bob and Linda, she has two grandchildren Brian (Erin) and Heather (Ryan) and four great grandchildren, Hannah, Lauren, Mallory and Cameron.

Through Dan and Susan, Kathy has two grandchildren, Kylelyn and Daniel. Visitation will be10-11am, Saturday, January 05, 2019 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by the Memorial service at 11:00am. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society, 2424 E. Sand Rd. , Port Clinton, OH 43452.
