Kathleen Bryant Jones, 82, of New Canton passed unexpectedly on January 2, 2019. She was born November 15, 1936, a daughter of the late Richard and Verna Stinson Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, B. LeRoy Jones.

Kathleen was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, serving in various capacities, including WMU and Property and Grounds Committee. She is survived by five children, Sharon White, Calvin Jones (Bobbie Jo), Lin Jones (Brenda), Troy Jones (Lisa) and Tracy Jones (Ann Marie); sister, Audrey Maxey; four brothers, Richard, Jr., Robert “Bob” Earl, Cary and Kenneth Bryant; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bryant and son-in-law, Butch White. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Verna Stinson Bryant Memorial Fund, c/o Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6277 Cartersville Road, New Canton, VA 23123. Donations may be made to: Verna Stinson Bryant Memorial Fund c/o Mt.
