Kathleen J Katz, April 30, 1954 — December 22, 2018

Obituary for Kathleen J. Katz Portsmouth – Kathleen Jane (Corbly) Katz, 64, died on December 22, 2018 at her home in Portsmouth with her family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves us rich in memories. Kath was born at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital on April 30, 1954, the daughter of Robert Corbly and Kathleen (Mulherin) Corbly.

She lived in the Seacoast area her entire life. After graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Kathleen went to work at the Naval Shipyard, retiring from the Department of the Navy in 2007 after 35 years of service. Kath enjoyed playing cards and taking cross-country trips.

She especially loved the time spent in Colorado. Family was Kath’s highest priority and her greatest joy. Her most treasured role was mother to her three amazing children and “Mimi” to her four wonderful grandchildren.

She was a loving, supportive and devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Kath is survived by her husband, Bruce Dague; her three children: Jeremiah Katz and his spouse Dawn of Telluride, CO, Tucker Katz and his spouse Jessica of Louisville, CO and Alexis Katz of Portsmouth, NH; four grandchildren: Kaden and Charlotte Katz of Telluride and Linden and Oakly Katz of Louisville; siblings: Mark Corbly and his wife Linda, Patti Peters and her husband Leigh, Jody Gretter and her husband Bruce, John Corbly and his wife Elaine and Michael Corbly and his wife Connie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert Corbly.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Kathleen’s life at 1 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Red Barn at Outlook Farm, 310 Portland Street, South Berwick, ME 03908. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Kathleen Katz may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital in support of lung cancer research , c/o MGH Development Office attention Carrie Powers, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114, checks payable to Massachusetts General Hospital.
