Obituary for Kathleen M. “Kathy” Qendro (Mahoney) Print Kathleen M. “Kathy” Qendro, 81, of Effort, passed away Monday, February 18 in her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of George Qendro. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in May.

Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Mahoney and the late Kathleen (Brady) Mahoney. Kathleen worked as an office secretary in medical records at several nursing homes throughout a large portion of her career. She enjoyed arts and crafts.

She was also very avid in sewing as she built a portion of her home into a sewing room, and sewed drapes, pillow cases, sheets and many other things for her friends and family. She was a loving wife and mother, and she will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Qendro of Effort.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Kresge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
