DARLINGTON/MADISON–Kathleen M. “Kay” Armstrong, age 87, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018. She was born on Aug.

28, 1931, the daughter of Alfred and Jennie Douglas. Kay grew up in the Darlington area, where she met Joseph Armstrong and they were married on July 8, 1947. She enjoyed cooking and found great joy working within the food service in the Madison area.

Kay loved to have her family around and they could always count on having a big meal cooked for them. She also enjoyed doing… Read More » crossword puzzles, watching the deer that came into her yard, sneaking her puppies’ extra treats and truly looked forward to receiving her Sunday newspaper. Kay is survived by her children; Dennis (Kathy) Armstrong, Cinda Maynard and Jeff (Deborah) Armstrong; granddaughters; Amanda Stanton, Samantha Koehler, Carrie Armstrong, Billy Jo Maynard and Theresa Armstrong; grandson, Shane Maynard; many great grandchildren; and step-sisters, Patsy Halvorson and Georgina Berg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Larry Armstrong; grandson, Robert Armstrong; five brothers; two sisters; and one step-brother. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018.
