Kathryn Cherice Sims Wiggs, 60, left her earthly home on Monday Jan. 7, at St Joseph Hospice Care. She is the daughter of Hugh Byron Sims, Jr. and Barbara Ann Bowman Sims-Bronson, born June 13, 1958.

She grew up attending the Wilmore United Methodist Church and working in her father’s Drug Store. Her favorite spot to visit was the beach, but she also loved camping at Camp Nelson with her children, where they played cards and listened to music. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Stephanie Smith, husband Marcus, Tommie Michelle Laubenheimer, and Jennifer AnnaJane Wiggs, grandchildren Demi Johns, Tylar Smith, Cory Smith, Eric Thomas Estes, Josie Hurtz, and Caudie Redmond, as well as a great grandson Owen Abshear.

She will be fondly remembered by sister Vera Lynn Williams and brothers Hugh Byron Sims III, Frank Steven Sims, and Sherman Peel, along with several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends She was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother Bertha Kathryn Sims, brother Benjamin Sims, and step mother Helen Sims. A Remembrance Memorial will be 7:00 PM on Friday, Jan 11, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 6:00 PM before the Service. Hager & Cundiff is honored to be chosen to care for Cherice’s family.
