Obituary for Kathryn Louise Carl (Van Epps) Kathryn Louise Carl (Van Epps) was born in Otsego, Michigan on March 28, 1916. She passed away on November 24, 2018. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Merton J. Carl, her parents Beemer and Margaret (Huddelston) Van Epps and two brothers, Roy and Ray Van Epps.

Kathryn is survived by one daughter, Susie (Larry) King, two grandsons, Richard (Julie) and Steven King, two great grandchildren, Robert and Johanna King, two nieces Morrcene Gustin and Jill (David) Hess, one nephew James Vanepps, several grand nieces and nephews. Kathryn and Merton lived in Otsego for several years prior to moving to Kalamazoo. Kathryn worked as a beautician, owning her own shop.

Kathryn loved to travel and enjoyed camping. Kathryn and Merton spent their retirement years living at Kline’s Resort in Vicksburg, MI, during the summer, and Melbourne, FL during the winter. Kathryn was dedicated to her family and was loved by all who knew her.

No one was a stranger to Kathryn as she enjoyed meeting new people. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am, December 22, 2018, at Oakwood Bible Church, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions can be made in Kathryn’s name to Oakwood Bible Church, Heartland Hospice, or MediLodge-Portage, activities program.
