OBITUARY Kathryn Parrott August 10, 1943 – October 17, 2018 Kathryn Parrott, age 75, of Santa Fe, NM, died of natural causes on October 17, 2018. Born in August 1943 in Edina, MN, she was the second daughter of Maynard and Kathryn Rue. She attended Drake University and the University of Minnesota where she was affiliated with Delta Gamma Sorority.

Throughout her high school and college years she was active in cheerleading. She was married to Michael Parrott for 54 years and they have three daughters, Jennifer Robinson of Evergreen, CO, Deborah Parrott of Fort Wayne, IN, and Lesleigh Mitchell of Denver, CO. The Parrotts have 7 grandchildren.

In addition, because all their siblings predeceased them, Kathy and Mick Parrott have very close ties with an extended family that includes 8 nieces and nephews and their families. The Parrotts lived most of their married life in Fort Wayne, IN, where Kathy was active as an aerobics instructor and in arts and philanthropic organizations. She worked for Vera Bradley Designs and ICON Exhibits in various administrative and customer service roles.

Active skiers and sailors, Kathy and Mick enjoyed traveling, hiking and golfing, especially from their home on shores of Lake Michigan. Along with her husband and a small group of parents interested in educational excellence, she was an original founder in 1977 of Canterbury School, a pre-K to 12 college preparatory school in Fort Wayne. She and her husband were active members in Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne for over 40 years and are currently members of The Church of the Holy Faith in Santa Fe.

Kathy Parrott was known for her gracious manner, joyful personality, vibrant spirit and natural beauty. She will be laid to rest in the church’s columbarium following a funeral service at Trinity Episcopal Church on November 2, 2018. Memorials may be made to the Chapel Guest Speakers Fund at Canterbury School, Turnstone Center For Children And Adults With Disabilities, the Greater Fort Wayne Community Foundation, Riley Children’s Hospital, Trinity Episcopal Church or your charity of choice.
