Kathy Jordan, age 73, of East Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Craig Jordan.

Surviving are her three children, Matt (Carolyn) Jordan, Jinna (Dr. Brett) Brechner and Rob (Jenny) Jordan; five grandchildren, Charlie and Olivia Jordan, Luke, Will and Drew Brechner and baby boy Jordan on the way. Kathy was a beautiful, vibrant and kind soul who brought joy and acceptance to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her dog, “Bear”, like her own child and enjoyed Alabama college football.

She was a charitable woman of strong faith, and loved friends and family fiercely. She had a boisterous voice and a contagious laugh that could be heard above all others in support of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an EGR high school teacher and a college counselor for over 20 years at Kendall College of Art & Design.

The guidance she provided both faculty and students was immeasurable. She made lifelong friends wherever she went. The family will greet friends on Friday Dec.

7 from 3 to 6pm at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service. A Celebration of Kathy’s life will start with visitation at Noon and service 1PM on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
