She was born September 9, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to parents, Kenneth Earl Barrington and Thelma Barrington. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Dale Barrington.

She is survived by, husband of 42 years, Dennis Ray Furrh; son, Marion Lee Brown and wife Shirlyn; daughter, Sandra Fontenot and husband Steve; daughter, Mary Brown; grandchildren, Angela Wright, Fred Williams, Jessica Pittsinger, Kaitlyn Furman, Chris Fontenot and Madison Fontenot; great grandchildren, Isaac, Travis and Evan; brother, Kenneth Wayne Barrington; and cousin, Johnny Faye Brown.
