Kay L. Hunt, 73, of Duncansville, PA died Thursday March 7, 2019 at the UPMC Altoona Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Kay was born on August 2, 1945 in Nashville,TN daughter of the late Karl R. and Bettie L. (DeBee) Thompson. Surviving are a daughter- Jodie L. Hunt of Altoona, a son- Robert “Jeff” Hunt (Jennifer) of Maryland, 3 grandchildren- Reise Heiberg, Raegan and Nora Hunt, by a brother- Karl D. Thompson of Ohio and 3 nephews- Keith, Grant, and Alex Thompson.

Kay is also survived by her loving companion and soulmate of 21 years- William Burger. Kay was preceded in death by a brother Skip Thompson. She worked for the Altoona Area School District where she was affectionately known as the “Tooth Fairy” as she visited and taught area school students proper dental Hygiene.

She was a 1963 Graduate of Altoona High School, she received her Masters in Education From IUP, her Dental Hygienist certification from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and also attended the Penn State University. Kay enjoyed reading, music, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Friends will be received from 4p.m. until 6p.m. with a time of remembrance immediately following on Saturday March 9, 2019 at The Good Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Pa Humane Society.
