Kayleen’s Obituary Kayleen Danett Couch, 51, passed from this life Saturday March 9, 2019 in Texas City, TX. She was born in Plainview, Tx on November 13, 1967 to James and Doreen Couch and was welcomed by two older sisters, Doretta and Lorenda. Kayleen attended Olton schools all 13 years, being active in FFA and band.
Upon graduation from Olton High in 1986 she attended WTSU for one year, rooming with her cousin Kym, thus fulfilling a lifelong promise to each other. She later transferred to SPC for a year until eventually enrolling at Texas Tech University where she graduated in 1990 with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Kayleen was an avid football fan, keeping up with the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, and of course last year with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Her true passion was the Texas Tech Red Raiders and was a proud alum. Auto racing was in her blood and that led her to Nascar and many years of enjoyment in family trips to different race tracks all over the country. From an early age she loved to fish and enjoyed many camping vacations to the mountains with friends and family, riding motorcycles across the mountain passes.
Kayleen had recently reconnected with her childhood crush, Billy Karl Lewis and they became engaged in 2017. Shortly after that, she left her job of 15 years in Las Cruces, NM to move with Billy to the Galveston area as it was both of their life long dreams of living near the coast. She loved her dogs, and her new passion of watching the Houston Astros, and she attended her first major league baseball game last fall in Houston.
Kayleen was living her dream with the love of her life. She is survived by her fiancée Billy Lewis of Texas City, TX; mother, Doreen Young of Olton; father, James Couch and wife DeeAnn of Shallowater; two sisters, Doretta Carroll and husband Brooks of Olton and Lorenda Spain and husband Stanley of Dumas; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were grandparents Emmett and Valera Young of Olton and Arthur and Lucille Couch also of Olton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stan Young, Troy Young, Brent Couch, Greg Couch, Anthony Catherall, and Austin Spain.
The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Olton Cemetery Association or in honor of Kayleen’s love for animals, to a favorite animal charity. Arrangements are under the personal care of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
