Keith H. Langmo of Litchfield, MN passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018 after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23rd at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield with a Masonic Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery. Keith was born to Kenneth and Sarah (Parks) Langmo on August 13, 1931 in Byron, MN. He graduated Le Sueur High School in 1949.

Keith was honorably discharged from the US Air Force in 1951. He married his beloved wife Barbara Walter of St. Peter, MN in 1953. Keith graduated the University of Minnesota in 1956.

Keith and Barb moved to Paynesville, MN in 1958 when Keith joined the Koronis Mills turkey growing company. In 1966 they moved to Litchfield, MN where Keith founded the Langmo Farms Companies. Keith truly loved his business and was always actively interested in its care and well-being.

Keith’s entrepreneurial spirit provided him the opportunity to do what he liked the most, meet people. Over the years Keith had many wonderful partners, whom became friends, in a wide range of business ventures. In 1970 he became the first Director of the Central Minnesota Vocational School in Litchfield.

Under Keith’s leadership, seven area high schools bused students to Litchfield to learn marketable trades and crafts. In 1982 Governor Al Quie appointed Keith to the Minnesota Pollution Control Board. He went on to be reappointed by Governors Rudy Perpich (twice) and Arne Carlson.

During his eighteen years of service, his board colleagues elected him to serve one term as Vice Chairman and two terms as Chairman. Keith is survived by his wife of sixty five years Barbara; three children Bradley (Anna) Langmo of Boca Raton, Florida. Susan (Chet) Thompson of Del Mar, California and Greg and (Karen) Langmo of Litchfield.

Five grandchildren, Alexandra and Christian Langmo of Boca Raton Florida. Thomas Langmo of Bozeman, MT, Mikka Langmo of Minneapolis, MN and Sam Langmo of Litchfield, MN. Brothers Kenneth (Virginia) of Litchfield and James (Edna) of Willmar and sister Carley (Martin) Braband of Willmar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Thomas Mitchel.
