Violet E. Nordling, age 99, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service. A private family interment will be on Monday, October 8th at the Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.

Violet Emily Nordling, the daughter of Christ and Anna (Jensen) Olson, was born on June 25, 1919 in Rosendale Township, Minnesota. She grew up near Rosendale and received her education from country school. Violet worked for several local families doing house keeping and child care.

On December 1, 1940, she was married to Nels Nordling. Together they farmed in Greenleaf Township. Violet enjoyed sewing and doing alterations.

She was a member of Beckville Lutheran church. She enjoyed trips to the casino and playing Bingo. She is survived by her children Richard (and Kathy) Nordling of Delano, Rodney Nordling of Hutchinson, Beverly (and Jim) Quast of Litchfield, Robert Nordling of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Randy Nordling of Hutchinson; grandchildren Duane Nordling, Craig (and Paige) Nordling, Brian (and Kristin) Nordling, Brent (and Jill) Quast, Brad (and Micah) Quast, Stacy (and Travis) Peterlin, Emily Nordling, Alyssa Nordling, Cory Carrigan and Kim (and Keith) Bollman; 18 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nels, infant daughter, infant grandson, daughter-in-law Deanna Nordling, 4 brothers and 7 sisters. Memorials to Litchfield Area Hospice are preferred in lieu of flowers.
