Keith R. Suokas, 74 of Lake Linden passed away at his home on Monday, February 19, 2018. The son of Rudolph and Ruth (Tolksdorf) Suokas, Keith was born on March 28, 1943 in Trimountain, Michigan. He attended elementary school in Ripley and later transferred to the Lake Linden-Hubbell school system, graduating with the class of 1961.

Keith was proud to be a “Whiz Kid”. Following graduation, Keith honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1965. He then went to work for General Motors in the Detroit area, transferring to Saturn in Spring Hills, TN where he retired in October, 2004.

Keith returned to make his home in the Copper Country in 2007. He remained a loyal and avid fan of all Lake Linden-Hubbell sports teams. He rarely missed a game and loved to talk sports.

Above all, he loved his family dearly Keith was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother, Michael Dowd, and several beloved aunts and uncles. Surviving are his sister, Marcia (Jim) Houle of Hancock, Uncle Mel and Aunt Carol Suokas of Clarkston, MI; and several very special nieces, nephews, and cousins. A grave-side service with military rights conducted by the Copper Country Veterans Association will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
