OBITUARY Kelly Ann Markert October 7, 1962 – January 8, 2019 Kelly Flood-Markert of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 8th, 2019 at the age of 56. She was born in Houston, TX on October 7, 1962. Kelly graduated from Smithson Valley High School in 1981 and attended college at the College of DuPage in Illinois, and Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
She was married to Bruce Ray Markert on March 24, 2001. Kelly spent the majority of her working career in the customer service field where she developed very strong and lasting relationships not only with her co-workers, but with the clients she helped. They simply adored her.
She was most recently employed with a local veterinary clinic in Frisco, Texas (Pet Medical Center); where she was a loyal, dedicated, and loved employee for the past 12 years. Prior employment included a long tenure with the Radisson Hotel in downtown Austin, Texas, Verizon Wireless in Austin, Texas, and SPRINT PCS in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her work ethic and commitment to doing a great job was always characteristic of this sweet soul.
Over her lifetime, Kelly attended the Church of Christ at various locations and always held Jesus close to her heart. She wholeheartedly believed in His saving grace and His love which shined through her giving, loving, and compassionate spirit. Some of Kelly’s favorite things to do included reading, having coffee with mom & dad, baking goodies for friends and family, taking pictures and video/film clips since the age of 12, and different art forms such as painting, ceramics, and lately, technical art used in website designing.
Kelly was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Ray Markert and father Thomas William Flood and is survived by her mother Hazel Flood, sister, Tracy Hirsch, brother, Michael Flood, sister-in-law Ann Bedford-Flood, brother-in-law, Jet Hirsch, nieces Kaitlyn Bedford and Kourtney Flood, great-niece Aubrey Bedford and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other in-laws. Kelly was a very kind hearted and loving person who will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home at 14501 North I.H. 35 in Pflugerville, TX on Tuesday morning, January 15th at 10:00 am.
