Ken Bielenberg, beloved son, husband, father, and ‘papa’, died of a sudden heart attack on July 12, 2018. He was traveling with his wife in his favorite place, the Caribbean Island of St. Marten. Ken was born on December 8, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was the second son of Don and Kathy (Miller) Bielenberg. He was welcomed home by older brother, Don. Younger brother, Steve, completed the family a few years later.

Ken moved back to Pocatello a year and a half later and worked various jobs until he found himself starting his electrical apprenticeship and then going on to become a Journeyman electrician with the IBEW local 449. Ken worked for various electrical contractors and in 2002 became partners with Louie Knudson who owned Electric Construction & Sales. Upon Louie’s retirement, Ken became the owner.

Ken’s work ethic, honesty and integrity maintained the success of the company for which it has always been known. In 1986, Ken met his future wife of 31 years, Michelle Thorngren from Rigby, Idaho. The couple was married in St. Anthony’s Church in Pocatello on August 21, 1987.

Ken and Michelle welcomed their daughter, Kailee Kathleen in 1990 and their son, Sage Levi in 1994. Later the couple opened their hearts and home to granddaughter, Lilly Grace, adopting her in 2011. Lilly quickly became one of the great loves of her papa’s life.

Ken and Michelle remained best friends and partners throughout their years of marriage. They stood constantly by one another’s side till the very end of Ken’s much-too-short life. Little Lilly said it best on a post-it note she wrote grandma Michelle saying ‘I will always miss my papa.

He was so kind. ’ Ken will be dearly missed by his family, neighbors, friends, and co-workers. Ken’s generosity and his ability to get things done steadied many throughout the years.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Michelle, Inkom, ID, daughter Kailee (Kelvin) Jackman and their children Sophia and newborn son, Ryder, Pocatello, ID, son, Sage Bielenberg, Boise, ID, granddaughter, Lilly, and his parents, Don and Kathy Bielenberg, Pocatello, ID; brother, Don Bielenberg, Seattle, WA, brother, Steve (Nikkie) Bielenberg, Phoenix, AZ. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28th at St. Anthony’s Church at 524 N. 7th Ave Pocatello, Idaho. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Friday evening and at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ken’s favorite charity, The Make A Wish Foundation. Please share memories, photographs and colendences on Ken’s trbitue wall.
