Obituary for Ken Oliphant Kenneth “Ken” Oliphant, 82, retired Boeing Computer Services employee, passed away peacefully June 29, 2018 with his children by his side. Ken was born December 1, 1935 in Iola, Kansas. He was the only child of Walter and Louise (Dickerson) Oliphant.

After graduating from Iola High School, Ken played two years of basketball at Iola Junior College and two years of semi-pro baseball in the Washington Nationals Minor League System. He served in the Army and was stationed at Fort Riley before moving to Wichita to work at The Boeing Company. Ken is preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Naomi Oliphant.

He is survived by his son, Brad (Janet); daughters, Julie (Gene) Martin and Susan (Doug) Van Driel; grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Garner, Braden (Chrissy), Anna and Gracie Van Driel. Viewing: 3-8pm Thursday, July 5, with family present from 5-7pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. , Derby.

Private family graveside services will be held. A memorial is established with Good Shepherd Hospice.
