Kenneth A. “Quint” Wayrynen, 63, of Rockport, MA, passed away in Care One at Es Park in Beverly, on Monday, December 10, 2018 after a battle with cancer, with brother Mike and friends at his side. Kenneth was born in Gloucester, MA on June 15, 1955, the son of the late Walter and Charlotte E. (Goodick) Wayrynen. He was a graduate of Rockport High School with the Class of 1973.

Quint started lobstering with his brother Mike back in 1967, hauling lobster traps and also working with his dad in his masonry business. When his dad retired in the early 80’s he took over the business, “Wayrynen Brothers Mason Contractors Trucking and Excavation”. He enjoyed traveling up to New Hampshire and Maine on his deer hunting expeditions and he was an exceptional hunter.

In his down time he loved following NASCAR on the tv. Quint was a quiet man and a real hard worker; this is where his Finnish heritage shown through. He also plowed snow on Route 128 for the State for over 45 years.

He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother Mike of Rockport, his Uncle John “Jussi” Wayrynen and many aunts, cousins and friends, and a big thank you to all. He was predeceased by his Aunt Louise Goodick and cousin Charles Wayrynen.

In keeping with his conveyed wishes there are no visiting hours and his service and burial will be held privately. Arrangements are made by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA.
