Kenneth Henry Johnston, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on October 17, 1930, in Comanche County, Texas, to William Henry and Ada (Elliott) Johnston. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. On March 24, 1951, he was united in marriage to Dena Mae Smith in Yuma, Arizona.

She preceded him in death on July 31, 2001. Kenneth was devoted to his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him. For many years he lived in California and was a Detective for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department until he retired after thirty-three years of service.

He was a member of Texas Cattlemen’s Association He is survived by two daughters, Janet Johnston of Comanche and Julie Johnston of Abilene; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Genetha Fay Autrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ada Johnston; and brothers, Rodney Johnston and Gaylon Johnston.
